The latest Dead Island 2 showcase features a gameplay trailer, a live-action trailer, and the new weapons that will be available when the title launches. The showcase had a surprise revelation as well because Dead Island 2 will apparently let players experience the game as zombies. The live-action trailer follows three characters who have survived the zombie apocalypse (or zompocalypse) as they arrive in a mansion in Los Angeles. During their exploration of the house, they mistakenly open the gates to welcome a horde of zombies and have to fight to stay alive. The gameplay trailer, on the other hand, takes players on a tour of Los Angeles showing its streets, houses, and beaches, with two of the game’s two characters, Amy and Jacob, in the middle of fighting zombies. The trailer also showcases the different weapons in the game such as machetes, katanas, guns, axes, swords, hammers, baseball bats, and axes, among others. Apart from slicing, dicing, and cutting with these weapons, players can go mano a mano and knock zombies out with their bare hands. We also found out via the Dead Island 2 showcase that you can use Alexa Game Control to perform certain actions in the game. Unfortunately, this option is available only in the UK and North America for the PC and the Xbox. Finally, the Dead Island 2 showcase gave users a preview of the game’s limited edition titled HELL-A edition. This package will feature a Season Pass, an Exclusive Steelbook, a Venice Beach travel map, Slayer Tarot cards, and some bonus weapons, including Eye Opener and Homewrecker. Amidst the incessant delays, Dambuster Studios announced a showcase event presumably to appease fans of the game. And since this event held without any mishap, fans’ will be more confident that the developer will finish the game. Dead Island 2 is slated for release on April 28, 2023. The title will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The title is currently available for pre-order.
