Depending on the implementation, having Aim Assist on the PC can feel different if unfair. Because of this, the feature is disabled if not non-existent on PC versions of multi-platform shooters. For example, Overwatch 2 doesn’t have Aim Assist on the PC. But, Overwatch 2 appears to have a “secret” setting that lets you enable Aim Assist even if you use a mouse and keyboard to play the game. According to AmonBull, a setting within the “Controller” settings on the PC is “bleeding” Aim Assist into mouse and keyboard settings. AmonBull explains this is why aiming in the free-to-play sequel feels “floaty.” AmonBull then offered a solution in a subsequent tweet.

— Bull (@AmonBull) October 7, 2022 Fans were initially skeptical about AmonBull’s claims. However, later attempts helped prove that the aforementioned bug exists and that following AmonBull’s advice will help make it feel like aiming in Overwatch 2 is the same as in Overwatch. Still, not everyone believes that this supposed fix works. Some say that there’s nothing to be fixed, to begin with. Ultimately, there’s no harm in trying. At least, you’ll know of a different setting in Overwatch 2 that might work for you, regardless of whether you’ve played Overwatch before or not. In other news, Overwatch 2 appears to have recovered from the multiple launch-day DDoS attacks it suffered.
