Get ready for Rainbow Six Extraction
Rainbow Six Extraction is one of the most highly anticipated games coming this year. The Rainbow Six PvE spinoff was initially revealed several years ago and went under a different name. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ubisoft decided to change the game’s name from Quarantine to Parasite and eventually Extraction before confirming its release date on January 20, 2022. It appears that Ubisoft wants to give everyone a chance to play Extraction. The game is going to release on all modern platforms, including the Xbox Series S/X, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and 5, as well as the PC. In addition, Ubisoft also lowered the game’s price point to $39.99. Not only that, but every copy of the game comes with a 14-day free trial pass for two players that Ubisoft refers to as the Buddy Pass. Extraction has both cross-play and cross-progression enabled right off the bat. Ubisoft is probably hoping that Extraction will help wipe the bitter taste of its recent foray into cryptocurrency. On top of Extraction, Ubisoft is also making Rainbow Six Siege available on the Xbox Game Pass on January 20. Extraction is a spin-off game based on Rainbow Six Siege’s limited game mode, Outbreak. The game will retain several of the operators from the main game, but with a different setting. In Extraction, three-team players will work together to take down Archaeans, which are parasite-like aliens. In other news, Ubisoft ended 2021 on a mixed note. As mentioned earlier, fans did not appreciate its investment in NFTs as Ghost Recon: Breakpoint got very little to no support. But, just before Christmas, the leading video game publisher released info on the long-rumored upcoming DLC content for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, Dawn of Ragnarok. Soon after, Ubisoft confirmed that it is going to remake the original Splinter Cell. With the company reportedly bleeding a lot of talent floating around, a good start to 2022 will do wonders for Ubisoft’s reputation.
