EA confirmed earlier this year that FIFA 23 will be the last game it will launch as part of the company’s 30-year-long partnership with FIFA. EA cited high licensing fees and low returns as the main reason why the FIFA series by EA will be known as EA Sports FC going forward. So, there’s no need to worry. The FIFA series will continue to live on under a different brand. Also, that won’t happen until next year. So, for now, you might as well enjoy what is the last ever FIFA title - at least until FIFA finds a willing partner. As for FIFA 23, the game will launch on September 23 and will feature its first-ever female cover athlete for the global release of the Ultimate Edition. The Chelsea Forward, Sam Kerr, will appear alongside the PSG forward, Kylian Mbappe, who will serve as the cover star of his third FIFA game. Just days after revealing FIFA 23’s cover stars, EA dropped a trailer for what it is describing as a game that has “pushed the boundaries of realism” by making improvements to the Hypermotion technology introduced in FIFA 22. According to EA, this will help give players “the most natural and realistic motion in football gaming, and when combined with the inclusion of both men’s and women’s World Cups, women’s club football, and cross-play features, will immerse players and football fans around the world for years to come.” FIFA 23 is also the most expensive and inclusive game in the series ever. In addition to the Barclays Women’s Super League and Division 1 Arkema, FIFA 23 boasts over 30 leagues in total. This includes everything from the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, EUFA Europa Conference League, and Premier League to LaLiga Santander, among others. This is a first in the FIFA franchise. Hopefully, it won’t be the last time the same leagues will appear in an EA Sports title either.

PS5, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PC players can all play with and against each other. But, the crossplay functionality for the PS4 and Xbox One versions of FIFA 23 are limited to each other. As we’ve already mentioned, FIFA 23 is coming out on September 30. If you are okay with paying a premium, the FIFA 23 Ultimate Edition grants early access on September 27 as well as having an active EA Play Pro subscription.
